The Joy of Charitable Giving

There's a particular date for spending we think you should definitely circle on the calendar, and no, we're not talking about Black Friday or Cyber Monday. We mean November 28, Giving Tuesday. This global initiative to promote charitable giving is now in its sixth year, and like its precursors, it would have you opening your wallet. The only difference? You'll be doing it to support a cause close to your heart. At Nanz & Kraft Florists, we're in the business of giving, helping people to make that perfect flower gift again and again. But we have another way to help, too. Read More about The Joy of Charitable Giving »

Joyful Poinsettias for the Office

We here at Nanz & Kraft Florists love the holiday season for its rich palette of colors and textures, which our seasonal blooms capture perfectly. This is the time of year when we make a strong appeal to the senses, simmering apple cider on the stove, hanging jingle bells on our doors, wrapping up in cozy blankets and staying warm by the fire. One place that really deserves a good dose of holiday warmth is your office. And yet, our workplaces are often some of the toughest spaces to decorate. After all, it's not as if we can move the furniture around on a whim or choose the whole decorating scheme ourselves. There are customers, clients and co-workers to consider. Glorious Cornucopia Centerpieces and More

One of Thanksgiving's most enduring symbols is the cornucopia, an expression of the harvest that came from Greek mythology. While in that case it was a goat horn that Zeus accidentally broke off, today the cornucopia is typically represented as a basket full of the fruits of the season's harvest. What hasn't changed? The ancient cornucopia and the modern one both symbolize abundance, the results of our endeavors over the growing season, and the nourishment we take from our hearths and homes. Is it any surprise then that we've made cornucopias into Thanksgiving centerpieces? Not to us at Nanz & Kraft Florists. Read More about Glorious Cornucopia Centerpieces and More »

Thanks In A Basket

If you're traveling over hill and dale this Thanksgiving to spend the holiday in someone else's home, you're in good company. Last year, 50 million people did the same, traveling at least 50 miles to gather round the table with the ones they love. We at Nanz & Kraft Florists also think you may have lucked out: hosting Thanksgiving is an enormous, dare we say, thankless task. There are so many steps involved in planning a formal, multi-course meal, and that's not even talking about the execution of it. And while you may have been asked to contribute an item to the holiday table, expressing your gratitude toward your host requires a little more. Read More about Thanks In A Basket »

Dinner Decor for Veterans Day

Every Veterans Day, we gather to honor those heroes in our community who served in the U.S. military to protect and defend our country. In Louisville, we're fortunate to call many of those veterans friends, neighbors and family. And on or around November 11, we acknowledge their incredible efforts and bravery publicly with parades and observances. We may also be honoring our favorite patriots closer to home, around our own dinner table. Here at Nanz and Kraft Florists, we've got a variety of floral arrangements just perfect for your Veterans Day dining table. Read More about Dinner Decor for Veterans Day »

Halloween Gifts & Spooky Decor

It's never too early in the season of giving to start doling out the gifts, or so we think here at Nanz & Kraft Florists. And since Halloween is such a kid-centered occasion, a time of magic and mischief, it's the perfect opportunity to send your favorite ghost or ghoulie a surprising treat that doesn't involve sugar. Halloween gifts can afford to be playful and often come topped off with some spooky decor. While you'd never add a fake spider to your roses in February, there's no reason not to add a bewitching element to your blooms in October. Read More about Halloween Gifts & Spooky Decor »

Sweetest Day Flowers Show Kindness

Sweetest Day has been celebrated in the Midwest for nearly 100 years, the creation of a group of businessmen in Cleveland, OH in the early 1900's. The inaugural event consisted of handing out candy and small gifts to shut-ins and orphans, and the day has evolved to include any acts of kindness - although giving candy is still entirely appropriate! We also love the idea of giving flowers, as flowers are known to increase happiness and enhance well-being. With such sweet benefits, why wouldn't you call Nanz & Kraft Florists?  Read More about Sweetest Day Flowers Show Kindness »
